Field Trip to the Farm

On Tuesday we went to the farm to learn about farm animals.
We got to see a baby calf who was only seven days old! The farmer fed the calf with a bucket bottle, and the calf was so happy to get her milk!

K4s and K5s got to milk a real cow.
Some of them said it was a little bit scary, but fun. Some cows even moo-ed when they were being milked. K3s and Ladybugs got to milk a big pretend cow, and that was fun too.

Everybody had a chance to feed the goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits, and many other interesting animals.

We got to wear cowboy a hat when taking a turn on the pony ride. For lunch we were lucky to find some picnic tables under the shade.

After lunch we visited the petting zoo to hold real guinea pigs on our laps, and where the K3s saw a small young donkey get chased by a crowd of big old cows.

At the end of our trip, everybody REALLY enjoyed the ice cream, even the teachers. But for some students it was very difficult to eat the ice cream before it melted!

Because we had so much fun milking the cow at the farm, back at school we decided to do a `milking the cow painting` art project!

Milk a cow!
Rainbow Milk
