Biliteracy Class - Zumba Dance

Yesterday in our Biliteracy class – both 3rd and 1st grade classes – we had an amazing time doing Zumba dance after our snack time instructed by Susana. This will help us get moving and become more focused for our exciting weekly themes & activities. We had so much fun dancing to the song and learning the dance steps to “Better When I’m Dancing.” We were especially amazed how much everybody remembered the dance steps from last year! We will have more upcoming Zumba dances this coming month.

After the Zumba session, Shireen introduced the topic on president and prime minister for 3rd grade Biliteracy class. What is president? What is their role in the country? Who is the prime minister of Japan right now? We also talked about the word, “law,” and how a rule or peoples’ opinion and request becomes a law for the whole country. The students had fun playing a small role play in class as the peoples' voice and congress (Shireen was the president!). Afterwards, we watched a read-along storybook called, “Duck for President.” Being president is a huge responsibility for millions of people!
