K4 weekly insight

It’s snowing!

It’s winter and getting cold. To get into the spirit and express our wish for snow, K4 made a snowflake craft. We learned that snowflake crystals are based on the hexagon. First we were given a hexagon shaped paper. It was folded into a triangle. We drew and cut a design。It was a really good exercise to hone our fine motor skills. Then we carefully unfolded it. We got really excited with our paper snowflakes.

The paper snowflakes were templates for our actual artworks. We placed them on paper and used a special painting technique. We splattered paint with a brush through a screen to mimic spray paint. We moved the paper snow flake template a few times to fill the canvas and finish our artworks. We were astonished by the results.
